What shall I do with my time now that I am retired ?
(I don't think that will be a problem)

WORK ON MY GEARBOX

07 NOVEMBER 2007

I took my car in for a service a few weeks ago.  When I arrived, I asked if they could 'adjust' the clutch on the CVT (constantly variable transmission) gearbox.  It has been a little fierce on taking off - but only when the engine is cold.
They said that there was no means of 'adjusting' the clutch and it may mean that the gearbox is in need of some repair. - They also said they would check it out and let me know the result.
Later that day when I collected the car, they told me that the gearbox clutch was in need of repair and that it was a very expensive job.   They said they would need the car for the best part of a week to replace the 'starter clutch'.
They also said that they would contact HONDA UK to see if they would 'contribute to the cost of the repair since this problem should not occur on a vehicle with only 46000 miles on the clock - even though the car was first registered in 2000.
They subsequently rang me to say that HONDA would pay the whole cost of repair.
The car has now been repaired (at no cost to me) and it now takes off soooo smooooothly !!!
